Instructor opportunities
Our college is approved by Alberta Occupational Health and Safety to deliver all 3 levels of First Aid. We have in-house Instructors, and we also have 3rd-Party Instructors. 3rd-Party Instructors do not work for the college as an employee or contractor. They have there own businesses either as Sole Proprietors, Corporations, or within the business/non-profit community.
We can offer instructor-training for those interested and qualified. This means that you need (at a minimum) the level of first-aid that you wish to teach. For example, if you would like to teach Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR independently, you would need both the Instructor Course, and you would need current Intermediate First Aid certification. We at the college prefer that you have the level above. Having current Advanced First Aid certification ( or greater like EMR, RN, etc.) would allow you to teach both the basic and intermediate levels of first aid without any challenges, assuming of course that you also have instructor training credentials.
Instructor training credentials - This means that either we train you as an instructor "from the ground up", or you come to us with credentials from another approved training provider like the Red Cross or St. John's. You would need to complete orientation and team teaching, but otherwise the training and credentialing is quite straightforward.

It's not as heavy as you think!
Becoming a member of our instructor team is straightforward and rewarding. We have very qualified Instructor trainers, and are under both Medical Direction (Dr. Chris Nichol) and Dental Medical Direction (Dr. Claudia Martin).
Once you join our Instructional team you will be provided with all the resources needed to provide training. We also offer some of the lowest fees for training called "3rd-Party fees". This is the actual cost to offer first aid in your community or workplace. Additional fees for setting up include you needing the training supplies such as the CPR manikins and first aid supplies.
